Direct Mail Design Drives Response

When it comes to creating a great direct mail piece that gets a big response, design plays a critical role. Direct mail design involves more than just the colors and photos on your piece. An effective design is compelling, engaging, and guides your audience through the mailer, driving home your marketing message in a visually entertaining way.

Creating Artwork for Your Direct Mail Campaign

You’ll start by defining the characteristics of your target audience, your unique business goals at the time of your direct mail campaign, and your branding guidelines. This helps you set a tone for the design of your direct mail piece. Smart direct mail design conveys your main marketing message or offers while staying short and sweet. And uses high-resolution images, for a crystal clear visual experience. Does your brand have unique colors, design elements, or a recognizable logo? Be sure to use them! This will increase your brand recognition by 80%!

You Design

Have your own art department? Great! We love working with pre-designed art. Our graphics team will make sure it is set up correctly for print and for the USPS.

We Design

Don’t have your own graphics or an art team? We’d love to work with you and create a piece that represents your unique brand and message. Our graphic designers know what works and what doesn’t in print. We’ve got a lot of experience designing everything from postcards to envelopes with an emphasis on direct mail response and requirements.

Working with Your Art Files

We’ll work with everything from native InDesign files to high-resolution PDFs. We accept Mac and PC files including Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, PDF, and graphic formats TIF, EPS, JPEG, and PNG. Sending files is easy through our SFTP site.

Direct Mail Artwork Proofing Process

Proofing your piece is an exciting part of the direct mail process. It’s when you get to see how great your direct mail campaign is going to look coming off the press. It’s also the time to catch any last-minute mistakes in copy, photos, or colors. Any mistakes caught during proofing are very easily fixed before production begins. We’re here to help you out every step of the way!

Preflight and Mail Acceptance Setup

All art files received from you or produced by us for you are inspected using our 20-point checklist. This list checks for bleeds, live-image area, resolution, mailing classification requirements, and other elements to make sure there’s accurate pre-press file preparation. We’ll accept your files using most commercially standard transfer protocols and we also offer SFTP.
